Saïd Foundation Cambridge Scholarship

This scholarship is available to Masters applicants from Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine.

Candidates should hold Syrian, Jordanian, Lebanese or Palestinian nationality and be permanently resident in one of these countries. The Foundation will consider Syrians residing elsewhere due to current circumstances in the country.

There are no restrictions on academic subjects, but candidates should demonstrate how their chosen course will help them to contribute towards the development of the region.  It is tenable at any College.

Conditions

  • Candidates should:
    • hold Syrian, Jordanian, Lebanese or Palestinian nationality and be permanently resident in one of these countries. The Foundation will consider Syrians residing elsewhere due to current circumstances in the country.
    • hold an undergraduate degree equivalent to a UK 2:1 or higher (or be in the final year of an undergraduate degree)
    • have work and/or voluntary experience relevant to their field of study and a clear career plan
    • demonstrate leadership potential in their chosen field

How to apply

Candidates are selected by the Saïd Foundation (not the Trust)

To ensure that they are considered for this scholarship, applicants must follow both of the following steps:

  1. check with the Saïd Foundation the funding call deadlines and details of the application process, and apply accordingly; AND
  2. apply for admission to the University of Cambridge by the funding deadline specific to their course (please refer to the Postgraduate Course Directory)

Saïd Foundation

The Saïd Foundation works in the UK and the Middle East. In the UK it offers scholarship programmes and assists the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, whilst in the Middle East it seeks to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in its priority countries.

The Further Education Programme promotes education, training and development by providing financial and other support to talented young people from the priority countries so that they can acquire skills and knowledge that would not otherwise be available to them.

The Foundation works with the Cambridge Trust to offer the Saïd Foundation Cambridge Scholarship, available to Master's applicants from Syria, Lebanon, Jordan or Palestine
