Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Trust
The Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Trust was established in 1966 by The Earl Mountbatten of Burma as a memorial to his great friend the late Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India. The Trust worked towards the furtherance of education by two means - the institution of an annual public lecture known as the Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Lecture, and the award of scholarships to outstanding students of Indian citizenship who specialise in science, technology or the humanities.
In 2016 part of the endowment of the Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Trust was incorporated into that of the Cambridge Trust, which now manages the Fund and is responsible for awarding the Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Cambridge Scholarships.
